Description

One of the important components of establishing a viable Telecommunicator Emergency Response Taskforce (TERT) program is to identify and train individuals who will be designated as Team Leaders. Under provisions of the APCO/NENA Standards for TERT Deployment, each deployed team should be accompanied by a Team Leader. 

 

Required Prerequisites:

  • Basic TERT Awareness course
  • Minimum of 2 years as a telecommunicator
  • Basic Telecommunicator Course
  • NCIC/TCIC Full Access Operator
  • NIMS ICS 100, 144, 200, 700, 800 and 1200

Preferred Prerequisites:

  • EMD certification
  • Supervisory Experience in a 911 Communications Center (i.e CTO, Shift Supervisor, Supervisor or Manager, etc.)
  • Previous deployment to a disaster area

Suggested Prerequisites:

  • Crisis Communications course
  • Intermediate Spanish for Telecommunicators
  • CISM Group and Peer Training
  • NIMS ICS 300 and 400 (classroom)                          

Students are required to provide proof of the above certifications prior to receiving course certificate
